The European Learning Industry Group is open to all companies and organisations which support our values and objectives and which are willing to play an active role in our activities.The ELIG has two membership classes with differing benefits, obligations and financial contributions as follows:
Core group Commercial organisations i.e. companies that are providing, under commercial conditions, learning services and/or solutions to the learning market place, may only join the ELIG Core Group. The Core Group determines the policy of the ELIG and only Core Group members are eligible to participate in the Executive Committee.
Consultation group Consultation Group membership is open to non-commercial organisations (such as educational institutions, professional and trade bodies and research institutes) and to commercial organisations that are users of learning services and solutions. The Consultation Group members are organisations that make a significant contribution to the deployment of eLearning and innovation in learning, and endorse the recommendations adopted at the eLearning Summit of May 2001.
The ELIG Core Group will work in close co-operation with the Consultation Group and will consult on a regular basis:
to provide comments and recommendations to the ELIG in relation to projects and policy papers under development in the ELIG;
to assist in the identification of potential partners in ELIG projects, and
to ensure active and constructive dialogue with the ELIG and the broader based learning stakeholder community on policy issues, trends and other developments regarding the learning environment in Europe and other regions of the world.
