Hamdan Bin Mohammed University - Leading Transformation to Sustainable Excellence, March 3 - 5,2014

‘Leadership, design, and technology for XXIst century learning’ will be the theme of the 6th e-Learning Conference that will be held in Dubai in March 2014 under the umbrella of the HBMeU 2014 Congress.

Educational resources nowadays are increasingly available online, from simple drill and practice exercises to full courses offered online for free by the most prestigious universities. Online social practices are supporting collaborative learning and distributed leadership. However, as rightly noticed by MIT Professor Mitch Resnick in a public lecture on TED, “young people today have lots of experience interacting with new technologies, but a lot less so of creating or expressing themselves with new technologies. It's almost as if they can read but not write.” From K12 to universities, educators also deserve appropriate design methodologies to create and express themselves with new technologies, so as to harness the desired synergy between technology and educational practices making learning more effective.

We invite you who are engaged in triggering this synergy to support changes, innovation, and excellence in education to submit full papers, extended abstracts, case studies, or poster presentations, and share your experiences and practices. All submissions need to be made against a particular subtheme of the 6th

  • Teaching, Design and Quality
  • Quality frameworks for online institutions
  • Social Online Learning (SOL)
  • Massively Online Open Courses (MOOCS)
  • Cultural integration of OERs
  • Educational leadership and technological innovation

Kindly check the event homepage for further details.
